Food Process Worker and Supervisor 
3 Food Production Operators

Great Stuff Organic Limited is a start-up family business specialized in organic health food production. We are a small team but will grow steadily and will give all team members the chance to grow along with the business. Don’t expect an ordinary job in production. We will keep you multitasking to learn about many parts of the business.

Job Title: Food Production Operative

LocationWakefield WF2, West Yorkshire

Hours: Two-shift rotating system, 36 hours per week

Salary: £8.91 to £10.00 per hour

Position: Full Time, Permanent; also positions for temporary substitutes available with hourly payment

The role exists to ensure that the manufacturing lines and warehouse operate safely and efficiently in line with company requirements and customer quality standards.

Main Duties:

  • Mixing of ingredients according to recipes, further processing to finish food products, packing, etc.
  • To ensure that all work is carried out in a safe manner in compliance with the Company’s Health & Safety Policy and Procedures.
  • To protect the health, safety and welfare of yourself and others at all times.
  • Maintain good manufacturing practice on the line, for which the machine operator is responsible for.
  • Ensure product change over’s / start up standards are managed and adhered to
  • Report all faults without delay to relevant manager(s) to ensure issues are addressed ensuring production is restarted as soon as possible.
  • To ensure that the highest standards of hygiene and housekeeping are maintained in all areas - operating a clean as you go mentality
  • Deliver a performance to ensure that company minimum standards are met and exceeded.
  • Ensure all issues encountered in production and warehouse areas are taken care of immediately.
  • To proactively support, engage and drive the continuous improvement of Company performance, challenging existing practices and actively supporting the Company’s waste reduction program.
  • To ensure that the Company is professionally represented at all times, both inside and outside the business.
  • To respond to ad hoc requests and/or take an active role in specific projects as directed by your line manager.
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as may from time to time be required by the Company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • All team members are expected to demonstrate a reasonable degree of flexibility, with different departments within the company. This involves: production, packing, cleaning.
  • Learning and maintaining a good knowledge of products and processes involved in food manufacturing.
  • Routine day to day tasks involved in the manufacturing of our quality organic snack products.
  • Recording accurate production figures and data.
  • Excellent attention to detail and taking care and pride in the quality of your work through food hygiene and health and safety practices.

Essential Skills:

You will need to be technically minded, have a good eye for detail and an analytical approach.

You are trustworthy, loyal, integer, dedicated, focused on teamwork with a desire to learn and grow in the role.

Similar experience in a previous role will be an advantage.
Food safety qualification will be an advantage. 

  • Conscientious, positive thinking.
  • A good standard of literacy and numeracy.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Effective and collaborative communication skills.
  • An understanding of, and an excellent attitude towards the fundamentals of hygiene and food safety.

Job Title: Warehouse Operative

Location: Wakefield WF2, West Yorkshire

Hours: Rotating shift system (40 hours per week


Salary: £9 per hour

Position: Full Time, Permanent

 

 

The role exists to ensure that the warehouse operates safely and efficiently in line with production, company requirements and customer quality standards.

 

Main Duties:

  • To ensure that all work is carried out in a safe manner in compliance with the Company’s Health & Safety Policy and Procedures.
  • To protect the health, safety and welfare of yourself and others at all times.
  • Report all faults without delay to relevant manager(s) / staff to ensure issues are addressed ensuring immediate action has been taken.
  • To ensure that the highest standards of hygiene and housekeeping are maintained in all areas - operating a clean as you go mentality
  • Deliver a performance to ensure that company minimum standards are met and exceeded.
  • Ensure all issues encountered in production and warehouse areas are taken care of immediately.
  • To proactively support, engage and drive the continuous improvement of Company performance, challenging existing practices and actively supporting the Company’s waste reduction program.

  • Active commissioning of raw material for production, based on production plans incl. booking in system
  • Monitoring of raw material quantities and proposal for replenishment
  • Receipt and check of raw material goods-in (quality and quantity) incl. booking in system
  • Preparation of finished goods shipments incl. booking in system
  • Packing of finished goods and preparation of pallets for shipment
  • keeping warehouse neat, tidy and organize.
  • Quality and weight checks.
  • All team members are expected to demonstrate a reasonable degree of flexibility, with different departments within the company.
  • Fulfilment of orders (picking and packing)

 

Must have:

  • License to operate an electric pallet stacker
  • Positive, supportive attitude and works well in a team
  • Sense for continuous improvements
